jupyterhub-contrib is a community-maintained home for projects that extend and customize JupyterHub: spawners, authenticators, services, and other tools.
It complements the jupyterhub organization, which hosts core JupyterHub infrastructure (e.g. jupyterhub, zero-to-jupyterhub-k8s, the-littlest-jupyterhub, etc).
Projects here may get lighter maintenance from the core team, but they stay easy to find and open to contribution from anyone.
This is a young organization, so you may not see much here yet, but if you’re interested in contributing or donating a project, read on.

Donate a project 🎁¶
If you’ve built something useful for the JupyterHub community, jupyterhub-contrib can give it a long-term home.
Your project gets more visibility, and other community members can help maintain it.
To donate a project, open an issue and we’ll help coordinate the transfer. To become a maintainer of an existing repository, open an issue in that repository. We add maintainers liberally, so more people are watching and improving the tools here.
Criteria for hosting repositories here¶
There’s no strict rule for hosting a repositories here, but here is a rough guide. Ultimately it’s up to the discretion of a JupyterHub core team member to decide.
Have a clear value proposition and documentation for both users and maintainers
Clearly relevant to JupyterHub’s ecosystem
Follow the same license as other Jupyter repositories (or equally permissive
Be “non-core” (core repositories with more maintenance expectations should be in the
jupyterhub/org)Be open to maintenance and leadership from other authors than the submitting author.
Have a degree of proven maintenance or usage from a clear user-base
